 Tánaiste signs contract for new PPP SchoolsTánaiste and Minister for Education & Skills, Mary Coughlan, TD has signed a contract on 2 June for five new second-level schools with Macquarie Partnerships for Ireland (MPFI) under the DES Public Private Partnership Programme (PPP). The contract provides for the design, building finance and maintenance of 2 Community Schools and 3 Community Colleges in Bantry, Co. Cork; Kildare Town; Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick; Wicklow Town & Athboy, Co. Meath.
A new Gaelscoil will also be built on the Bantry site.
It is expected that the new schools will be ready by the end of 2011.
