Distance Learning – Studyclix
My name is Luke Saunders. I am a teacher and founder of Studyclix.ie
Lots of schools have been in touch with us as part of their distance learning planning to facilitate student learning remotely during the current school closures. I thought it would be worth passing on some details that might be helpful to principals and deputy principals out there.
Free teacher access
All the teaching staff at all schools in Ireland can set up a free account using your school’s teacher access code. Just get in touch if you don’t know this code and we can send it on along with instructions for your staff.
I have also created this 2 minute video that talks through how teachers can use our Exam Builder to set their students worksheets remotely and our Quiz Builder that allows your staff to set their students quizzes that can be shared with their students. Once students have taken the quiz the teacher gets a full report showing individual student’s performance in that quiz.
Student access
Your students can of course continue to use our services to manage their own learning online. Aside from our usual features such as questions by topic, videos, notes and quizzes we have also increased the levels of live support we are offering via our live chat tool on the site. We hope to be able to give as much support as possible to students during this time. The content and learning tools on Studyclix are structured such that they are specific and targeted to the year that student is in (1st – 6th) as well as their chosen subjects.
Many schools have been in touch to set up their school with a short term school license to give all students full access to Studyclix. Obviously, we are doing this at a hugely discounted rate per student. A license can be set up within an hour and just involves us issuing you a single upgrade code that you can pass on to the students. We also issue you with:
– letter to parents indicating what Studyclix is and how to get the best out of it as well as set up instructions.
– Teacher instructions along with guidance on how to use our service for remote teaching.
– Suggested text of web text to circulate to parents.
If you would like to have a chat about getting set up then email me at luke@studyclix.ie with an idea of the number of students in your school or, if you prefer, send on your number and I will follow up with a call to discuss your needs.
Feel free to forward this email to anyone else who you feel would benefit.
Many thanks,
Luke
