IRISH SPORTING LEGENDS PACKIE BONNER AND SANITA PUSPURE LAUNCH FLAG DAY 2021 REGISTRATION CAMPAIGN
We would like to update you with some exciting news. This week the Foundation has launched a campaign to register all secondary schools across the State, to take part in Flag Day 2021.
The Registration Campaign has been launched by World Rowing Champion Sanita Puspure, Irish Football International Packie Bonner, 10 time All-Ireland Winner Henry Shefflin, and the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Hazel Chu.
As you know the Foundations Annual Flag day takes place on March 16th, 2021, the eve of St Patrick’s Day. The Registration Campaign runs from November 16th to 30th and includes radio advertisements and media appearances to encourage every secondary school Principal to register their school.
You may hear radio ads on Newstalk and Today FM this week until the end of this month or you can CLICK HERE now to listen to the two ads by Sanita Puspure and Packie Bonner on our website.
In addition, Packie Bonner spoke to Pat Kenny on Newstalk this week about the campaign to register all secondary schools for Flag Day 2021. You can listen to his interview here on playback
The Foundation supplies all registered schools with a free Irish Flag to enable them to hold a flag raising ceremony on Flag day, along with free lapel pins to assist in the schools fundraising efforts. Additionally, schools are encouraged to celebrate the flags of all nationalities within the school community, providing the opportunity to reinforce the Flag’s message; celebrate active citizenship and inclusivity; and support fundraising on behalf of a charity or a cause of their choosing.
We thank you for your support.
Warmest regards,
Michael Cavanagh (Revd.)
